Ladies, there is something important that we must understand: The people who annoy us and get on our nerves are in our lives for a reason. These people are simply tools to move us to change some type of behavior or negative thinking inside of us. However, we tend to focus on the person or the situation. We gossip about them to friends who take our side instead of giving us the real and holding us accountable for our behavior. Although we may decide to leave the situation, if we do not resolve it in a healthy manner, it will follow us. It may be a different person, but it will follow us into the next.
So regardless of whether your annoyance is any of the following:
- The boss that micromanages you
- The “baby daddy” that gets on your last nerves
- The colleague who is constantly throwing you under the bus
- The committee member that you just can’t seem to get on the same page with
- The client who pushes all of your buttons
- The pastor who will not promote you
Understand that it isn’t about them it’s about YOU. Sis, you can’t change others or their behavior. You can only change yourself and your response and perspective.
